PREPARE TO COMPETE
The Vanguard Games combines functional fitness with live-fire marksmanship to test strength, endurance, accuracy, decision-making, and composure under pressure.
Competitors should arrive prepared for both the physical and shooting components of the competition and be familiar with all published event, range, and safety requirements.
WHAT TO BRING
Competitors should arrive with:
- Valid photo identification
- Signed liability waiver and required registration documentation
- Appropriate athletic clothing
- Competition-appropriate athletic footwear
- Required personal protective equipment (PPE), including appropriate eye and hearing protection
- Any additional equipment identified in the final Competitor Handbook and event instructions
SHOOTING EQUIPMENT
Firearm, ammunition, magazine, holster, and other shooting-equipment requirements will be provided in the final Competitor Handbook and pre-event competitor instructions.
EVENT DAY REQUIREMENTS
Competitors must report according to the published event schedule and participate in all required check-in, safety briefings, range briefings, stage walkthroughs, and equipment inspections established by The Vanguard Games.
SAFETY FIRST
Safety is a core requirement of The Vanguard Games.
Competitors must follow all Range Officer commands, maintain proper trigger discipline, use required PPE, remain within approved range positions, and comply with all venue, firearm, range, and event safety requirements. If a competitor does not understand a command or procedure, they should ask an authorized event official for clarification before proceeding.
COMPETITOR CONDUCT
All competitors are expected to compete with integrity and sportsmanship, respect fellow competitors, spectators, staff, volunteers, judges and Range Officers, follow authorized instructions, and comply with all venue and safety requirements.
