How many competition stages are there?
The Vanguard Games consists of four competition stages:

Each stage combines physical work with a shooting component.
Do I need shooting experience?
Because the competition incorporates live-fire shooting, competitors must be capable of following all range commands, firearm-safety requirements, and instructions from Range Officers and event officials.
If a competitor does not understand a command or procedure, they must seek clarification from an authorized official before proceeding.
What should I bring on competition day?
Competitors should bring:
- Valid photo identification
- Required registration/waiver documentation
- Appropriate athletic clothing and footwear
- Required personal protective equipment
- Appropriate eye protection
- Appropriate hearing protection
- Any additional equipment identified in the final Competitor Handbook and pre-event instructions
Is there a mandatory safety briefing?
Competitors must attend all mandatory safety/range briefings and any required stage walkthrough or equipment inspection established by the organizers.
What safety equipment is required?
Appropriate eye and hearing protection are required for designated live-fire activities. Competitors must also comply with all venue, range, firearm, and event safety requirements.
How is the competition scored?
Scoring may account for stage performance, hits and misses, time penalties, safety penalties, and other infractions. Each missed shot will result in a three-second penalty added to the competitor’s finishing time. Detailed scoring procedures and applicable penalties will be provided in the official Competition Rules/Competitor Handbook.

When is the registration deadline?
Can I transfer my registration to someone else?
I would hold this FAQ for now. The handbook references an earlier October 3 transfer deadline but specifically says that policy still needs confirmation.
Same thing with refunds. We previously had No Refunds, but because this affects registration terms, let’s make sure Gabriel/Craig has finalized it before publishing it prominently.
